Abstract

Feminism is a common topic of modern world literature. Its traces can also be found in modern day Arabic literature starting with Jamaluddin Afghani, Qasim Amin. Najla Izzudin is another contemporary Arabic writer who has penned on the same.  Like any other literature, many writers of Urdu have written on the rights of woman folk. Prominent among them are: Syed Mumtaz Ali, Abdul Haleem Sharar, Deputy Nazir Ahmad, Altaf Husain Hali, Kishwar Naheed etc. The article explores commonalities in writings on Feminism by famous authors of Urdu and Arabic.
