Contemporary era, while progressing rapidly in the fields of science and technology, is simultaneously suffering from moral and spiritual degeneration. Materialism, self-centeredness, and the unbridled pursuit of wealth have deprived humanity of true peace of mind. Tasawwuf (Sufism), which highlights the spiritual and ethical dimension (Ihsan) of Islam, offers a comprehensive solution to these modern challenges. Sufism is not merely asceticism or isolation; rather, it is a structured system of self-purification (Tazkiyah-e-Nafs) and moral training that keeps an individual steadfast amidst material storms. By clarifying the true and fundamental concept of Sufism in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, this paper examines how the teachings of Sufis can help mitigate modern crises such as moral decay, mental anxiety, and social intolerance.
