The letters of Allama Muhammad Iqbal written to contemporary religious scholars, literary figures and political leaders form an important part of his intellectual and literary legacy. These letters are unique in style and rich in thought, reflecting his deep engagement with the religious, cultural and political issues of his time. During his travels to different countries for the pursuit of knowledge and to deliver lectures, Iqbal continued to express his ideas through correspondence. These letters provide a broad view of the political conditions of the Indian sub-continent and the socio-cultural environment of various Muslim societies. They also reveal his personal connections with spiritual and religious circles, showing the close link between his beliefs and his public life. Although, written in prose, the language of these letters often carries a poetic tone, which adds to their literary value. This study examines Iqbal’s correspondence as both historical evidence and literary expression, highlighting its importance for understanding his thought and personality more fully.
