This study offers a comprehensive introductory account of the life of Makhdum Abdul Rashid Haqqani, a distinguished Sufi saint of the Qadiriyya order and one of the earliest exponents of this spiritual lineage in the Indian subcontinent. It reconstructs his biography and traces his genealogy, which converges with that of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) through the noble ancestor Hashim. Drawing on classical and hagiographical sources, the study records the historical migration of his forefathers from Arabia to Khwarazm and Ghazna, and thereafter to Kot Karor (Karor Lal Esan) and Multan. It documents his manifold contributions in the religious, judicial, social, agricultural, and educational spheres, presenting him as a scholar, reformer, and benefactor of society who renounced worldly comforts despite his royal and aristocratic marriages. As a foundational study, it seeks to consolidate scattered and, at times, conflicting source material into an authenticated account of his ancestry, spiritual station, teachings, and enduring legacy in the propagation of Islam across Kot Karor, Multan, and their surrounding regions.
